There is no Residential option to switch lot type

I am trying to switch a vacation rental to a residential lot. Every time I look this up, everyone says the same thing. Go to Build Mode and hit the "I". Then switch the lot type. I have... and there is no residential option. 

Now what?

    What world are you in? The residential lot type is not available in designated vacation worlds like Granite Falls or Selvadorada.

    That totally makes sense! ::facepalm::

    Is there a way to move the lot to another world and then change it, or no?

    You can save the lot to your library and then place it wherever you want.
