- SqueamishNerd3 years agoSeasoned Ace@LisaG46 I personally feel like they could have percentages of how much body hair auto-generated sims have, so that most auto-generated female sims have average female body hair pattern (as in the one that doesn't exist yet) and a few auto-generated female sims could have a bit more and few have a bit less, and also those with no body hair at all. And the same thing for male sims, as long as most of them have average male body hair pattern (right now a lot of the spawned male sims have a lot of back hair, which isn't very realistic tbh, especially not in younger men).
But, I think the most important thing is to add actual average female body hair pattern to the base game.- 3 years ago
@SqueamishNerd The problem with your averages though is that they're a bit on the short side. There's nothing particularly wrong with the locations but you missed a few spots. Among average, and yes "average" in the sense you mean it, It's quite common for women with noticable body hair to have higher than knee high leg hair, especially on the back of the leg and between the thighs, and higher hairlines elsewhere such as arms and belly, naturally. And there's no armpit selection. And I don't mean women with underlying conditions, just averagely.
My objections to the Sims handling of the hairlines, as a hirsute woman, is to the chest hair and back hair. While it's possible getting hair like that with PCOS we're talking the average pattern.
Actually, that brings to mind about the female hair pattern dispalyed above; that small strip of blue right there is weird to me even though I have PCOS myself. Chest hair between the breasts like that isn't particularly average, but a few long hair around the "peak" of the breast is. Though we wouldn't be seeing that under clothing unless we had a certain whimsical mod installed. Even Wiki doesn't have a blip there for the average female hair pattern.
- SqueamishNerd3 years agoSeasoned Ace@daedaliavallis Yes, you're right that it's quite common for women to have noticeable body hair going higher up than the knee, but it's often (of course not always) not as coarse as the hair below the knee, which I don't feel like the current in-game body hair options give us. The current in-game body hair looks just as coarse below and above the knee, just lighter above the knee. Also, for people with dark blonde hair (or it might be due to ethnicity/race, I'm not sure), it's common to have relatively dark (compared to head hair colour) hair below the knee and no hair (except for the peach fuzz that we all have all over our bodies) above the knee. So, I think you have a point here, and I think we actually need at least two average female leg hair options in the base game, one that doesn't go above the knee and one that goes above the knee but where the hair strands look less coarse, rather than lighter (a little bit lighter also though), above the knee. We might even need more than just two, since body hair can be straight, wavy and curly too.
About the chest hair I've seen a lot of women with hair between the breasts like that, women of different origins and with different hair colours. And when looking at pictures of hirsutism scales, this specific pattern has the lowest or second lowest score (depending on if the scale includes complete hairlessness or not) on all of the scales I can find when googling. This is different from average male chest hair pattern, where hair is much more common *on* the pecs than *between* the pecs.
I didn't add any information on hair around the "peaks" of the breasts, since it won't show (though, maybe it could be useful on male sims). I also didn't add hair on the bikini line, because there's no option for that with the other currently available body hairs, and because it's probably seen as too intimate/indecent to have in a Sims game.
- gooochyeee3 years agoSeasoned Ace@SqueamishNerd I think they need to add more body hair in the basegame, aswell as curly textured body hair in the basegame. And I agree the female ones are just a poorly done carbon copy form men.
