Ticking OK in CAS does nothing

Since the latest update (PC 1.123.66.1030), I cannot leave CAS when starting a new game. I click the "save and exit button, and the tick greys out as if it is loading, but nothing happens... I can exit out of the household portrait and go back to customising the family as per usual, but there is no point because I can't play with them anyway... 

I have repaired the game using the EA app, cleared the cache files, etc., and I do not play with mods or CC.
