Time loops

My Sims just froze, with the time still passing but then looping back (going from 2:30am to 3am and then back to 2:30). If I went to the menu it would then load a bit but then as soon as I went back to play mode the same thing happened

I left this and came back just now and the same thing is happening. I'm playing on mac and have not come across this issue before. I have no mods, have repaired the game numerous times on the EA app but its still the same. When i try to go to manage worlds the loading screen appears and then just never goes?

any suggestions or anyone similar?
