Transferring sims 4 on to another laptop

I have copied my sims 4 folder from one laptop to another and then I have downloaded the sims 4 game on the new laptop but it is only giving me the option to start a new game rather than resume game. Does anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Is your documents folder in the same place on both laptops?

You need to copy the [usually C]:\users\[whatever username is you, might be different on the two machines]\documents\Electronic Arts folder to the equivalent location on the new machine. Sometimes the drive letter or username are different.

Yes that's exactly where I went wrong. I had it in the wrong folder but once I transferred the sims 4 folder to documents it's now working and can resume game. Thank you for replying.
