Uninstalling The Legacy Edition

Ok so when the new update and legacy edition came out I was no longer able to launch my Sims 4. I am running 64 bit Windows 10 and my computer is only a few years old, and after talking to 2 EA tech support people i had to switch to a 32 and was forced to download the Legacy Edition to even get my game running again and now I no longer have the gallery. How can I uninstall the Legacy Edition and try to get my original game back?

    @Jessabelle013

    If it can run it. Rightclick on the Game in Origin and select Game properties. On the Advanced tab change from Legacy to 64bit.
    It does not matter that your PC is only a few years old. You could have bought one yesterday that would be incapable of running the game.

  • My HP Pavilion Gaming laptop (running Windows 10 64bit) had been running TS4 with most expansion, game, and stuff packs installed until this Legacy Debacle. I never intended to install it; it installed automatically when I launched the game from the Origin library. Will switching the settings to 64bit remove Legacy?

    @dholland74

    If you were set to run in 32bit the Legacy edition automatically installs

    Changing to 64bit will mean that you run in 64bit.

  • Hi I've only got this problem recently, and with my game there is no drop down menu or even an option to select running the game differently. See image attached.

    I really have no idea how to fix this. When playing my game all my save files are also unplayable on sims 4 legacy edition.

    I know im late to the thread but i really need assistance.

    Thanks,

    Bella

    @FlixstarFull  Please let me know if your computer runs macOS, because the details are quite different.

    Otherwise, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

    Please also look for TS4_x64.exe, inside the game's installed files.  Unless you changed the default install location in Origin, the full file path will be:

    Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

    If TS4_x64.exe isn't there, a repair will normally put it back.  However, some antivirus programs seem to be blocking it, so if repairing doesn't help, please let us know what antivirus you use.
