University Applications

i've just returned to the game after a long absence, and I'm catching up on EPs and GPs. I do have "University" installed now, but I've tried twice to have a sim submit an application and neither one has "processed". One was a young adult; one is a teen. When she checks on her computer it says, to the effect, "Your application  is being processed. Check back later". It's been 19 "game days" since she submitted the application. FWIW, I'm a rotational player and today is the 3rd play of this household since she submitted the application. Whether or not that has any effect...???  I don't know.

I did search the forum and found a post with the same issue, but no resolution. The only "mod" I have in the game is MCCC.

Second question... if there is a glitch here and my sims can't get applications processed, is there a cheat -- with MCCC or otherwise -- that will allow me to enroll a sim in college?

Thanks for any help you can offer

  • Hmm… how many game days has your young adult sim been part of the active household since they applied? It’s supposed to take a few days - I’m wondering if maybe it’s not counting them when you rotate out to other households.

Be warned that Discovery University doesn’t work well with rotational play - if you leave a sim alone mid semester they may fail it.

  • If you continue to have issues there is a cheat to enrol sims into university. With testingcheats enabled, shift-click on the sim, then click on the Pack cheats option, then click on EP08 University, then the University debug option, then enrol in university.

I think maybe my rotational play style is creating the problem, but fortunately I did find a work-around with the "testingcheats".  Thanks for the reply, and thanks for the warning about leaving my sims alone during rotations. That could be a big problem.

Thanks! I was watching a few video tutorials last night and I came across this "enroll" cheat, so at least I have that option. With my rotational play style, though, sending any sim to university might be a problem -- without additional cheats. I guess I'll have to give it a try and see what happens. :)
