Unplayable after placing build

A few days ago I placed down a build. When it finished placing that build, the objects from the original build remained and only the walls of the new build were placed down. When I exited build mode, I couldn't click on any objects, Sims, or floors. I went to the game options menu, as it allowed me to, and clicked to exit the game without saving. The popup went away, but the game did not exit. I needed to restart my computer in order to exit the game. I had CC in my game, so I removed that and tried again. But even without cc, the same thing still happened. I tried a different games save with different sims, and it still did not work. So I repaired my game. When that didn't work, I removed all my saves, tray files, everything. That also didn't work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. That also didn't work. At this point, in a completely new game, with nothing in my game, it's still broken. I could really use some help as this is pretty distressing.
