Why EA, why do I have to repair my game every. time. you. update. Sims4? Why?My saved games get lost or are corrupted and nothing works until I wait for hours for the game and all of it's add-ons to repair. It is beyond frustrating.

That definitely sounds exhausting! If you really get corrupted files every single time you download an update, have you checked your internet connection? If you’re using wifi, maybe try the next update with a wired connection, to see if a more stable connection helps. And definitely back up the saves folder first.
Another thing to check is if you have OneDrive/icloud/dropbox or any other syncing service on your game/user files - disconnect from it if possible, or at least make sure all files are set to available offline/locally and syncing is paused while playing. But honestly if this was the issue I’d expect problems more often than just when the game updates. 🤔
