Walls on build mode divided and compressed

When I'm building, the default walls become divided at 1/3 of the height, as if there was 1/3 of a wall and then another 2/3 on top of it, vertically. There's a line clearly dividing the wall at that height, and when i try to place any sort of wallpaper, paint, paneling etc, the game doesn't read it as one single vertical wall, but as two walls, one on top of another, and it messes up the designs. This randomly happened to all buildings on all my saves, regardless of being built by me or not, and on any new builds I start on pre-existing saves or new ones.

The only script mods I have are Lilyvalley's librarian and archivist career, Lumpinou's open love life, and MizoreYukii's funcional broom. The only recent one is the librarian career, and I've already play tested without it, and the problem persists.

I'm playing with all EPs installed up until horse ranch, which I don't own.

Appreciate any help!

  • @madbrian777 This isn't likely to be a script mod issue. Can you test mod/CC-free? Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods folder to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Document > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.

It's not just the height, your wall sections are 2x squares wide too instead of one. Could you move the whole Sims 4 folder to the desktop, or rename it, and then load the game and see if it still happens with a brand new family, in a brand new save, on a brand new lot? Don't move any of the contents of your old Sims 4 folder into the newly created one.
