Weird mesh issue with a Sims chest

Thought the game was blocking me from changing the volume of a Sims breasts unilaterally, it would seem what's happening is random Vanilla shirts and dresses are glitched in someway.
When I switch to an unaffected clothing item it lets me change the size of the chest just fine, but when I switch back to the affected clothes it continues to show a random chest shape my Sim does not have. These are not sculpted clothing items like a corset or shoes or such that would warp a sims frame, a menswear suit is should medium sized breast no matter how full or flat I make the chest.

These are vanilla clothing pieces, I don't have ANY cas cc, emptying my mod folder doesn't fix the issue, and the only mod that has anything to do with cas is the more columns mod.

Everything that comes up is very old and/or is explicitly about broken slider and cc mods, which I don't have to be broken

ive tried a lot of random solutions, using mcc to change the breast values, using trait.equip to remove the breasts but they dont come back with the cheat or by fiddling with cas settings so thats a nonstarter, reseting the sim, tried erasing cache(maybe did it wrong!), removing mods

  • newtsafeforwork Ok, so just to be sure I am understanding correctly, this only happens for this sim when you change the frame to female.   So, a couple of questions.  Did you make this sim or download it?  Was the sim originally male or female?

Tbh, this sounds like a glitched sim.  Not sure how but since the issue only affects this one sim and no others, the problem has to be the sim.  So, the obvious solution is to delete the sim and move on.  Now, if you are really attached to the sim and don't want to lose this particular sim, the best thing I can recommend is to either find an older version that doesn't have the problem and play that one or to copy the sim over onto another sim using MCCC.  Either way you lose something though.  And the latter can be a bunch of tedious work depending on how far you want to take it.  You won't be able to get an exact match, but you can get fairly close.

    Hope this helps.

  • newtsafeforwork  Tbh, this is something I would expect a broken or poorly made CC item to cause so the usual suggestion would be to go through your CC checking each item individually.  But, since you aren't using any, it has to be something else.  So, next most likely thing would be something in a mod since you said you do use those.  Some mods do things like change the default body shape or replace parts of the body mesh.  Some mods will also leave something behind in a save, even after deleting the mod.  So, the first thing I suggest is to run a repair.  If that doesn't work, then I suggest you try making a new save with an empty mods folder.  If the problem is still there after that, then try a user folder reset to give you a brand-new clean user folder.  To do that, follow the directions here:  📓[GUIDE] Clean User Folder Approach | EA Forums - 12690428

Should none of that work, come back and we can go from there.  One thing that would be helpful to know is what system you are playing on, PC, Mac, PS4/5 or Xbox.

    Hope this helps.

  • It's only that version of that sim. I have an older version of the same sim i imported to try to do copy/pasting via mccc.

    im on pc
Did it, double checked that the same items arent glitched on other sims(all the gender settings are the same), and added the glitched sim in on the clean install and the chest volume slider is still broken only on those random affected clothes on that specific sim
both frames are affected, BUT if i switch from female to male, both frames are unaffected
