What happens to the Children

    I ran into this sort of situation in my current save and ended up looking up what happens, and from what I read any sim below the teen life stage will be removed from the game if all older sims in a household die. They also will not be available for adoption, and simply disappear. There are mods that can change how things work, I believe MCCC has options for orphaned sims to be adopted into a random household, but yeah without mods I believe the sims are simply gone for good.

@simsplayer818 I looked up Buttercup Rattlebag for a picture but it only said she was a small white dog who hyper and playful.  Do you remember what kind of dog she was? 
I haven't seen Terms of Endearment in a looooong time, but I remember my friend and I bawling! 😭  If you want to avoid crying, don't watch Beaches, Little Women, or read Where the Red Fern Grows! 😭

I have never tried adding relatives to my game in the way you mentioned, but I will have to try that! 💡 That is a good tip! 😄

@PugLove888 Adding relatives is a great way to return to favourite households. I do that with my central favourite family. I have the Soldados who are related by marriage to the Reynas, the Sotos, the Marquettas. I added a daughter from a previous relationship for the father of the Reyna family and a crazy ex girlfriend. I added family for a new son in law and so on. I've made the family tree so big now that I have to invite 2 batches of guests to gatherings as there are so many of them!
If my terrible memory is correct, I think Buttercup Rattlebag may have been a schnoodle? She was left in a household alone once and I couldn't adopt her so went by to feed her every day. After that I always pinched her in my new games!

    @simsplayer818 , very interesting!  I'm sure that will come in handy for certain families that I play, not to mention other people reading your post! 😎
    And thanks for the info on Buttercup! 😇  I don't remember her exactly (so I wanted a picture because that might jog my memory!) but a Schnoodle sounds adorable! 😍  I grew up with a Schnauzer mix (Miniature Schnauzer and Scottish Terrier).  Would that have made her a Schnotty ?!? 🤔🙌🤣

      @PugLove888 I think a new breed of dog has just officially been named Schnotty!
      One note of caution though adding extended families sometimes doesn't work on families being added from the library for some reason, it can give an error message when editing the relationship panel but otherwise works fine.
      The idea came about because of a death when I first started Jungle Adventure. I had 2 friends in separate solo households who I decided were of that region and culture, who travelled around the jungle as part of discovering their ancestry and wrote books about it. Ora Reyna (Ora the explorer, get it?) and Vitalia Soldado. But Ora was killed when she visited the jungle alone (and her idiot creator had forgotten to make a backup save, my bad). Distraught Vitalia looked everywhere for her but found no trace. Then in Vitalia's household game, Ora popped up at the spice festival weeks later a very sad ghost (and me a bit freaked out, as we've discussed on another thread, I'm easily spooked). It's literally the only time I've ever had a ghost visit the spice festival. So Vitalia moved her in to her home and acquired all the skills to bring her best friend back from the dead with Ambrosia.
      After all that effort I decided to expand their households, add parents and siblings and make them the central families. Ora married Vitalia's brother Nico and rescued a load of jungle dogs and Vitalia married a jungle local Fernando, bought Yuma Heights (modernised it but kept it faithful to the snow globe) and adopted 3 children.
      Their little tale of friendship became my own game lore and about 10 different households came out of it so far. I still have Vitalia's brother in law Javier to add back in and Ora's teen brother to age up and start a family!

        @simsplayer818 , I'll have to tell my family that I discovered the name for our childhood dog's breed!  They will love Schnotty! 🤣 I've never really thought of it, probably because when we had her, it wasn't the trend to name  dog breeds this way, with the exception of Cockapoo.  Most people just said, "I have a Collie mix", or "Boxer mix", or "Chihuahua mix", etc.

        Thanks for the warning about how extending the families in this way doesn't work for families that are from the library! 

        Wow! You must have really loved your Sim Ora to have put up with her being a ghost for so long! 😮🥰  I'm glad you were able to bring her back to life! 🙌  Yes, I used to watch Dora the Explorer when babysitting family members when they were children!  In my mind, all of the foxes in Cottage Living are Swiper! 😅

        That is wonderful that you made such a rich background for your Sims through the family tree you created for them! 🥰 Sounds like you had a lot of fun!

        Back when there was the Sims Spark'd Gallery contest, I made several wedding couples, one for each  wedding type. One of them , Diana Fernandes, is from the city. She wanted to explore the rural areas of her country so she headed to Selvadoraada and met local Ignacio Esparza!  They fell in love and want to have a wedding in the jungle!  (Too bad this was made before My Wedding Stories came out, because I couldn't set them as fiancés in the Gallery back then, and I'm sure some of the CAS items from that pack would have come in handy.)  So that sounds like a similar premises to your story with Ora and Vitalia! 😎  And I didn't mean to do it, but after I made Ignacio, he looked kind of familiar... and then I realized that he looks like the famous chef Aarón Sánchez! I didn't intend to do this, but I must have done it subconsciously, as I do watch a lot of cooking shows ! 🤣  The strange thing is that i"m lousy at making real life people in the Sims, so had I actually set out to make a Sim that looked like him, it would have turned out terrible! 😅
