@PugLove888 I agree with all your points. With bust the dust they could of made it battery powered and therefore off the grid like cats and dogs Roomba and litter boxes
@gooochyeee yes, batteries is another option and would have prevented the need for a separate item of broom with dustpan, as well as not having the need to make animations for that! I just like the idea of a broom/dustpan because it fits with the aesthetic better of Off the Grid! They could have also made the Cats & Dogs Roomba vac to work with Bust the Dust as well, but this wouldn't help those who don't have Cats & Dogs.
Having the ability to toggle dust by lot would have been best , but it would also require a lot more work on their end (what we think of as a simple toggle is actually a lot more complicated to code for , from what I've heard from someone who understands code) Therefore, your idea of battery operated vacuums might be the best for developers and players! 🙌
- @PugLove888 Although laundry day works perfectly fine with just the check of whether or not any of the laundry items are on the lot… if Bust the Dust just had an off-the-grid broom and only got dusty if you had a vacuum or broom on the lot… but I suppose that would be complicated because unlike the washer/dryer a vacuum or broom might just live in a Sim’s inventory. Maybe a specific decor item like a dustpan hanging on the wall, like Snowy Escape’s shoes off sign?
@PipMenace , Yes! something on the wall or set on the floor that can make dust start accumulating , like the hampers in LD or the shoes off sign in SE! Great example to mention the take shoes off sign! 🙌
@gooochyeee yeah, I have never been able to get the C&D roombas to work at cleaning dust . Thanks for the link! 😉There's one thing I think they've missed with the robot vacuum cleaner, it's probably more of a cat's and dogs issue really but could apply to all vacs. The pets don't interact with them. That would have been such a fun addition. The pets in Sims 2 Pets would have I'm sure! They were really lively.
My cat likes to supervise my robot vacuum cleaner. He appears from wherever he is when he hears it beep. He follows everything it does and alerts me if it gets stuck. If they added that as a feature in the Sims it would be a bit more realistic.
When bust the dust was added I wondered if it impacts the pets at all? Do they interact with the cleaners or with the dust bunnies? If they did I might add it.
