I WAS LITERALLY JUST GOOGLING THIS- i couldn’t find the answer anywhere but alas I have found a solution, but only if you’re on pc. You can use the MCCC mod, summon the deceased sim at a mailbox, select MC cleaner under the MCCC option, move inventory and then it will move that sims inventory to your own, meaning their gravestone will then be yours. So happy I figured this out
