why is this dresser blocking my sims from the bed?

pretty much what the title says. the dresser doesn't look nearly close enough to be blocking them. it's not even placed with bb.moveobjects. i tried putting it like halfway into the wall and it still doesn't work. would appreciate any help! <3

  • Are you sure it's the dresser and not the lights? Sometimes these ceiling objects can cause issues. I had this problem with ceiling fan very close to a stove AND dishwasher. I was wondering why my Sims can't use either and thought it's digester above the stove, though that wouldn't solve the dishwasher problem.. But no, that wasn't the issue for even the stove. Then I moved away the fan, that was still half tile from both objects and guess what? Yes, my Sims could cook and use the dishwasher again. So, check those lights. Even if they aren't straight above the bed, they may still cause an issue.

  • it's definitely the dresser because they get it in the thought bubble of why they can't go and they're able to get in if i get rid of it.

    thank you though!

  • Using move objects cheat can become quite an ongoing trial and error process of moving items until routing works.  Have you moved the dresser out of the way completely and checked that the sim can get into both sides of the bed in its current position?  My suggestion would be to take the bedside table to the edge of the room where you have a lot of space and then check the bed and you may find you need to slightly change its position for it to work.  Once you know your sim can get into the bed, then you can start trialling with adding in the bedside table and other clutter items.  I’ve recently had an issue similar and I forgot the basic rule check each item as you go.  I wasted a lot of time shifting all the other items before checking bed placement.  Now I check routing with each item as I place it and I save once I know routing is all ok before moving on to add in the next furniture or clutter item.  It is then easy to know which piece is causing the problem when you constantly check as you go.  On a side note, your room is looking fantastic - love it!

  • @mayaashlag2 have you cleared the ceiling items to test it as @peno11 suggests? Because it's always the pendant lights for me. In particular that pendant light in front of the dresser. I'd say you'd need to move one or the other to get to the bed.

You could also shrink the pendant light or change to a taller wall height or widen the room by a tile width.
