Thomas inherited that farm and it’s a huge expense that neither he nor Rahmi could afford alone (not that she would necessarily need to stay there if they divorce, since it wasn’t her family’s farm). The cheap produce (apples, lemons, base game mushrooms, etc) can be made into friendly treats and sold at the stand for a nice profit if you haggle, especially on Fair days. That’s been their largest source of income for me, and once they get golden eggs that’ll take most of the load off.
