:( Deleted my save file

Ouch I’m so sorry. That’s a painful thing to do. I’ve never done it (*knocks on wood ?) but I know it’s an easy thing to accidentally do, too easy really.

Far too easily done, which is why you should ALWAYS save as and keep more than one save of each game.

I am currently doing my complete world rebuilds and adding sims as I go, it is a LOT of work and I do not want to risk losing it. I save as A, B, C and D saves and then overwrite A, then overwrite B etc as I am going along so I always have four saves. Yes, I would lose a little if I happened to delete the most recent one but it would not be a major loss compared to everything.

I also occasionally go out of the game and copy my saves somewhere else. Double safety net.

Haha I know that's true... But I'm such a minimalist that I can't stand the thought of several saves. I should probably reevaluate that lol. Oh well. It could've been worse haha

Ohhh nooo!!! I'm so sorry. I would be devastated to lose a save and Sims. Hopefully the new save you create will be even better.

Your post made me remember, I might have a previous version saved on an external hard drive. I'll have to double check, however even if I do it'd be SUPER old, probably almost easier to restart than try to update to where I was at lol. But I'll check where the save was at :) Unfortunately I don't have a recovery program :(

Okay I checked the external hard drive and it's not there. There's a tiny percent chance it's on my old computer but I am 99% sure it's not and that computer takes 20 minutes to boot up and 17-40 minutes to load the games, no exaggeration, I usually watch a show or do a workout while waiting lol. (There's a reason I bought a new one hahaha!)

I think I'm just gonna continue on starting over lol.

Only this time I'll make my save even better than before!

Let me give you a little bit of advice, which you can take with a grain of salt, if you like. When I build a home that I want to make sure is backed up, in case I have to change computers or the save file gets corrupted, I always share the building to the gallery. That way it's basically saved to Origin's hard drive. Even if you change computers or a save file gets deleted, all you would have to do is put the building back where it was in your game.

I feel for you; I really do. I've had laptops blow up on me over the years, and then I had to scramble to put everything together again. Just to save time though, you might consider sharing your work with the gallery. Plus, others might enjoy your work and start following your builds. They might like your households and start their own legacy lines with them.

Just think it over. You could also back up your Sim's folder once a month on an external drive. That way you can plug it back in, if something happens.

I hope everything works out for you, and you start enjoying your game again. Hugging OZ Bunny metaphorically might make you feel a little better. That grin always makes me smile ^.^

That plums... I've lost weeks of play before and had to close up the game for awhile because it hurt. I've deleted saves that I thought I was done with and later you miss it..
I feel bad for you.. that was a lot of work to lose.

Thanks for the tips however i don't build haha. My homes were all gallery downloads and then I decorated them. I can't build for the life of me. It took months just decorating and redoing them to work for my family and finding the perfect ones in the gallery but I don't want to reupload even though I changed a lot because I know some builders don't like that.

I tried to save to my library but lots always disappear from my library instantly for some reason. :(
