:( Deleted my save file

It was my rotational save file, had almost 50 families in it, every world customized, all the homes customized to my Sims I wanted to play, I hadn't spent years on it, and had barely started playing it, but I had spent a LOT of time on it, quite a few months, and was about to start with it now that my 100 baby challenge was finished.

I am thankful the Sims I had created are still in my library (Most anyways) but I'm gonna have to start again with building their relationships how I wanted them. Some had had kids I won't get back. THeir homes took the longest and they are gone for the most part. :(

Oh well, I know it could be worse, and maybe it'll be fun to start over tonight, but I'm kicking myself now for sure. I was so excited to just play it tonight as I do NOT enjoy build, but now I have months of getting it all back to where it was again.

(I checked my recycle bin, and it's not there, and all the .ver versions are gone too when I checked that. I also tried to "recover save" from in game but it's not there either. It's completely gone. I thought I was deleting a different save and accidentally did the wrong one)

That plums... I've lost weeks of play before and had to close up the game for awhile because it hurt. I've deleted saves that I thought I was done with and later you miss it..
I feel bad for you.. that was a lot of work to lose.

Thanks. It really was a lot but I've decided i can't fix it so I am just gonna have fun trying to make it even better this time around.
  • I’m sorry. One time I had to start over because my hard drive crashed or burned. It sucked but building and creating sims was better second time around.

Don’t forget to back your game on an external hard drive after major changes and keep at least 4 save as. I personally keep 8. lol
  • As long as you credit the builder's work and say you tweaked it, I don't see a problem with that though. That could just be me.... As long as I'm getting credit for the work I put into one of my buildings, I don't mind someone saving their work that way.
  • I'm so sorry! That is a terrible feeling.

I keep a thumb drive stuck in one of my ports and back up to that in case my hard drive crashes or something. (I have everything saved on it, not just sims.) If there's ever an emergency or something, I can just grab my thumb drive and take it with me wherever I want to go.

I hope your new save is even better. I'm glad you at least have some of your sims. You can always cheat relationships to get them back to where they were. It's not really cheating if you're restoring, right??

Ive done that before. You'll recover.

    Wow, way to be supportive.

Can you cheat relationships without MCCC, just wondering. Although I probably will put MCCC back in at some point anyways lol. I got rid of mods a couple months ago cuz I didn't feel like updating them lol. But I will likely add several back after the game is "set up" again.
  • Thanks all :) I can't reply to everyone right now, but I AM feeling better about it.
