Playful moods can drop the fury meter a little, enough to counter the "ambient" fury gain.
The other way I've dropped fury is to have my sim do something they enjoy - as in something they specifically Like, such as gardening or dancing. Gardening and Fishing can also contribute to being mindful, so that may have a factor too.
