@Gordy
There are cheat codes :
eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state 0 : Green Eco Footprint
eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state 1 : Neutral Eco Footprint
eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state 2 : Industrial Eco Footprint
How do we use the cheats? While visiting each neighbourhood?
I want to tweak all neighbourhoods in all worlds to different states and then turn eco footprint off. Im not interested in changing the states. I just want at least one neighbourhood per world to be industrial and trashed. Im already using the landfill lot trait and have trashed those areas with debug items.
I had to use a sim that was living in the neighbourhoods I wanted to cheat the footprint. I found that just visiting didn't work. For some of the neighbourhoods that didn't have a family I could just hijack, I just moved in a "trash" sim and then evicted them after I had played them and used them to put the cheat in.
Thanks @Camkat . Im gonna do that. It's being a hard work to set all neighbourhoods in all worlds to the point i want them but i think it will be worth while :) i'll save it to be my starting point of all saves from now on :)
That's what I did. It's easy enough, but it's time consuming so I'd rather not have to set them all again. ;) - I did an unintentional test. I used The Old Mill lot in Port Promise (industrial footprint), traits of Geothermal/Natural Well/Fast Internet. The first 3 days the Sims were coughing and choking and getting the negative buff. I added 3 wind turbines. The next 2 days, negative buff, choking, and coughing. Then I changed the flooring through the house to one of the new eco-friendly ones. No negative buff, no coughing, and no choking. The footprint was neutral for all of Port Promise. I didn't do anything else.
- alan650New SpectatorYou said fire place but firepits outside also generate industrial print. The rocket ship generates industrial too.
- That stinks! I hope they fix this. I was looking forward to polluting Del Sol Valley and San Myshuno :'(
I'm still waiting for a sale though, so hopefully they'll have it fixed by then! - SimmervilleSeasoned AceI noticed that my restaurants all got an industrial icon, even when not being played much. So maybe the chef's kitchen has a very negative impact?
EDIT: I got this wrong. A couple restaurants I never visited are still neutral. - Peapod79New SpectatorMine is moving industrial now, but it's going pretty slow. Alternatively though, when I try to make it green, it does seem to be going faster. I'm wondering now if that was intended maybe? Or... I mean it's been out now barely over a day so I'm likely missing something? I think I need more time.

Aw glad this thread exists. I'm now gonna put only high-consumption appliances in my house and see if that helps lol. Also, I noticed that there's only wallpaper with an environment loss? The one from Strangerville? Did you find any others?
You will likely need to edit all the lots in the hood to achieve industrial. Good luck ! There are not many wallpapers and flooring with industrials scores. It seems easier being green in the sims 4.
It worked out relatively well by using only high consumption electrical items, industrial footprint decor, and a couple of generators. ? I had cheated it to the middle but it shot up right to the upper extreme overnight ? somehow I hadn't even considered the consumption aspect of showers etc. Dunno how quickly it would've gone if we'd started from green or neutral though. - Peapod79New Spectator

I'm clearly missing something or something isn't tuned right.
I finally did have it 100% industrial. Soon as I got the notification it was at 50% again. I paused my game to read the popup so it was an instantaneous drop. Nothing on my lot has changed, I have no neighbours and my sims aren't doing anything different from what I did to turn it industrial and now it's arrowing towards the green again?!
I'm a little surprised it went from 100% to 50% in literally zero game play time though. Feels like it's just not working quite right.
Items only count toward the footprint when they are actively in use I think. Things like electrical items, not walls ofc. At least, thats what I think Im seeing.
Yeah, I'm noticing the drop when I need to add more fuel to my generators. Unless they stopped at the exact moment of my 50% drop though, I'm not sure what caused that quickly drastic one? It is a good reminder though that my generators need fuel if nothing else. :D"LeGardePourpre;c-17530038" wrote:
Industrial footprint seems to be impossible.
Green footprint is a goal easier to reach. I did nothing San Myshuno Central Park was already green.
I'm noticing doing nothing is keeping the parks green too. - SimmervilleSeasoned Ace

I would be surprised if San Myshuno park was *not* green??? The lot contains park items and lots of plants, how could that be industrial? - elliebretonSeasoned Ace
