A little survey

In the Sims we have outfits for many occasions. But we do not have many places where to put our formal wear. Specially children and toddles. I am curious to know in  what venue or or for what activity your Sims wear formal outfits.

  • I have my Rock Star Sim dress up for the Awards Show. I have any children dress up for holidays, such as Pascha (Easter) and/or Christmas. Also, when there's a wedding, they are going to be present for.  I think it's a matter of creating your own reasons for dressing up.

NPC love cc and wear it proudly from formal evening wear to cc hair everywhere.🙄🙂

I only use formal dress when I plan a social event on my phone in game.

I have a vampire ball coming up soon in my game and it's gonna be lit! I got dresses and suits that will shut the town down.

    Vampire Masquerade. 😈

  • thefirsttemplarInteresting thoughts. Personally, I find the party outfits much more useful for my style of game, but then I host a lot of birthday parties at home and that's always automatically party outfits, so I tend to look at that as "going away" clothes. A bit more formal than everyday, but not as formal as formal events such as galas, weddings as such. I usually put Christmas outfits in there, as well as birthday outfits. I also like to add some clubbing clothes in there and use it when going to nightclubs.

A costume category is sorely needed! The random costumes the game assigns my sims almost never fit their personalities.

As for party outfits, I always end up removing the filter and picking mostly from formal when I set my sims' party outfits. Maybe our idea of a party is drastically different from EAs.

  • I'm hard pressed to name an actual ingame event my sims wear formal wear to. I changed the default for the San Myshuno Love festival to formal, though. Their party wear, that they also wear for dates, usually is closer to formal than to the suggestions in the party category. So, dates and that one festival.

My sims wear formal outfits (often uniforms) for negotiations, giving speeches, job interviews, award ceremonies for challenges I make them play and other roleplay situations.

  • My sims where formal outfits for funerals but I choose formal attire when planning the funeral.

  • Mine dress up for events such as weddings and when they go to a fancy restaurant for dinner or a date; teens get formal dresses for their prom. I've also had my Sims dress up for a fancy New Year's Eve party or a fancy Christmas party. Most of the time, they wear their party outfits for occasions such as house parties, family dinners on holidays, going to a club... those outfits are less formal yet pretty stylish, too.
