A Poll on Snow Depth

Sorry for a little offtopic, but I just have to point out how your avatar fits perfectly to your in-depth 'Why...?' questions @ElenPink :)

Where I live, there's less and less snow every year. Or maybe I should say: it snows for shorter periods. But when it does, I'd say it's mediocre amount. It can cover your shoes, but the school or roads were never closed because of that, even when I was little (well, maybe there were situations like that, but it was decades ago). As for snow in the Sims, it'd be nice to have that depth, but I also quite enjoy what we've seen so far. I guess that people feel positive about snow in general, because it brings memories of carefree childhood and Christmas time.

You took the words right out of my mouth. They spent time giving us other gameplay features that will be so distracting for me personally, that I won't even notice the snow depth issue.

Lol! The same thing happened to me, we will be leaving the snow by fall, and if I never saw snow again it would be too soon. I'm sure I'll have a few sims that will feel the same way.

And that's a good evaluation. It must have to do with nostalgia. I used to live in the West coast and later moved to the east coast, where I first experienced snow. At first it was great, but I've gotten tired of it and want to move back to the West coast because of it. xD I think people tend to romanticize snow for some reason, and I created this poll to see if many of those who romanticize snow are the same ones who really want deep snow in the game.

Yes.

I don't care about snow depth.

I do actually care a little, I'm hoping for a destination world with more snow in the future. But for this pack I don't mind really.

I've long gotten over the snow being flat, but I definitely consider it a negative.. so I would say it's something I care about.

Is the snow in your area enough to cause delays or cancel class? Or enough to cause an inconvenience? If that's a yes, I would categorise it as a lot.

If not, then I would vote for "not a lot of snow" (:

In Finland things don't get cancelled because of snow, we're too used to it ;)

Okay then I want to know why.

Everyone will have their reasons but it mostly boils down to realism. If I want my kids to have a snow day, for example, the flat snow kinda ruins it. Unless it is very cold, you need inches to have a snow day. I'm also not crazy about having blizzards without an abundance of snow.

For me, the type of experiences I've had with snow in real life has no relevance. But I do know that some people never get to experience snow in real life, so having it properly represented in the game is very important to them.
