A question about the Rags to Riches challenge
After watching others do it, I decided to try my hand at the Rags to Riches thing for the first time. My sim was Deon, a (literally) starving artist who was a geek, a slob, and a dancing fool. (Note, he didn't have the gloomy trait.) Admittedly I probably played the challenge incorrectly as it didn't seem all that difficult for Deon to make a small fortune and stop sleeping in bushes. But I noticed as the game went on that Deon's Fun level was always in the red. Nothing I did seemed to help. I even clicked the auto solve to allow Deon to decide what he wanted to do and it still didn't make him happy. I gave him everything! He had a pool to swim in, a sauna to relax in, friends to talk to, a TV to watch, a stereo to listen to, a computer to play games on - nothing worked! I could get all his other needs up into the green except his fun. Eventually Deon made some bad fish and died of food poisoning and by that time I was like good riddance.
What did I do wrong? What could I have done to make Deon happy? Is EA secretly slipping in a life lesson that money can't buy happiness, because boy, it did not. Is this a normal side effect of the challenge or is this a glitch?
