- Hi @logion
Thanks I have tried to do all that and cannot get it to work..-)
Hi @Sindocat
I have tried your suggestions too and just cannot get anything to work ( I confess not being very good with paint or the like as I never hardly use them) so in a flash thought I took a pic of each world on my phone and save them. I will try downloading them to my pc and and add some info in paint to them. All I am trying to do is be able to save a visual representation of each world with all the different lots and families i have used so if i had to start over it would not be so problematic :) - elliebreton7 years agoLegendSparky, you may find that pics taken with your phone do not come out too well.
Have you tried downloading FRAPS? That is how I get my screenshots. Or, if you put the sims into Window mode you could probably do a screen capture with the Windows Snipping Tool. - MDianaSims7 years agoSeasoned AceWhat I usually do is press the windows button and the print screen button simultaneously. It then saves the image to a separate screencaps folder generated by windows itself. I've been using that method ever since the screenshot bug we had last year. Granted, I did go back to normal in game screenshots once the bug was fixed, but it's very useful for pictures of the world maps.
- Hi @elanorbreton
I think you are correct lol I don't have Fraps yet and i hate windows mode in any series so dont know how to do that however @MDianaSanders your method worked quickly and easily thanks so much as i can now visually see what lots I have paced in various worlds which will help me if I ever need to reinstall :) - DeKaythePUNK7 years agoLegendPrint screen should work. If you are on full screen mode, I suggest just using Print screen as Alt+Prt Sc only captures an active window and I don't know if they can recognize the game when it's on Full screen.
But usually just the Prt Sc button works for me. Then, I quickly hit the Windows key to get out of the game for a while and open Paint and paste it there (Ctrl+V). - Simburian7 years agoSeasoned Ace

I should have mentioned that. I play in window mode. It helps when building something I found online.
Would Snip and Sketch work in Windowed mode? I don't use the mode to try myself.
I find it useful for changing avatars though. - Hi @Dannydanbo
Thanks for that list of instructions I will try that, basically I have spent ages redoing my worlds and although I have written on a word document what lots/sims I am using in each world I wanted to have a map of the world so i could go into paint and write the lots and the sim family name over each lot I have changed so if i ever need to reinstall it will be easy for me to see where I placed all the lots..
Hi @DeKay
Nope the print screen button alone does work for me I have to also press the windows button as @MDianaSanders describes in her post now I have to see if I can enlarge the pic and hopefully sort out what i need using paint :)
Thank you everyone for your input I will be trying out all suggestions to see which is the easiest route :) - here
https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=thwe+sims+4+map+screens - I always use print screen key and paint. Depending on your keyboard layout you might have to hit another key as well to enable it to function but once you have hit that key just hit CTRL + V in paint (I made the canvas size very small to avoid excess white around the edges) and it should paste the imagine at the same size as your screen.
