Academic Probation

In my current household I want my sims to be underachievers. It worked well for three of the slackers, and the fourth even managed to get Academic Probation. I like that a lot, but now I have no idea what exactly an academic probation means. Do I need a certain minimum grade in the next semester? Something else? Just for the record, I want to give that sim a chance to get her degree, not purposely fail.

    My sim married a NPC student who had been her roommate. He turned out to be on probation with (6 of 12). The text said he had to pass at least one course to go on. He did and finished uni successfully.

    Pass one course, check. (I hope I'm getting offered the videogames or dancing electives, that should do the trick, and for this particular sim these are the only classses that would make sense for her to really put effort in.)
