Achievements...

So anyone know the point of achievements? I mean the achievements under the list of menu options where you would save your game. I have 1285 points but like what are they for? Do they serve a purpose? I see an option to share on FB and Twitter but I don't even have a Facebook anymore and don't use Twitter like that. Other than that what is it there for? Is it supposed to be like Xbox and PlayStation? If so I guess I can see the fun in just trying to get all the achievements if they were going for that angle. Like someone shed some light in this for me.

  • They don't really serve a purpose. For other games, Origin tracks the achievements and shows them on your profile, but TS4 is not included in that system. They don't give you anything for doing them and your only way of showing them off is to share them on social media to people who probably don't care.

Apart from that, they're most likely meant to provide the player with a sense of fulfillment, satisfy completionists, and provide incentive (if you can call it an incentive) to play the game longer. I think achievements in any game are mostly something that console players tend to care more about.
  • Yeah, like Cupid said. Only the base game achievements are actually achievements that give you gamerscore/trophies on the console ports. Otherwise, there fairly pointless.
