Ok, I wanted my Sim to be an actress but now I'm starting to regret that decision. Is it just me or does it seem like one of the most boring career options out there? Like I had to change my aspiration twice to figure out something for my Sim to do in-between jobs. I'm just starting to wonder if I should have her do something different or if it's just me?

I've only played the Actor Career once. What I ended up having my sim do besides the acting bit, I also had her become an internet sensation by the way of the media production. It kept things pretty busy.

I love playing the actual gigs, but the downtime waiting for an audition and then between the audition and gig is kind of long, especially once your sim has raised a bunch of skills and doesn't need to do as much to get ready.You could try choosing gigs that require skills the actor hasn't developed yet and fill the time building those skills while they wait.

I'm just going to have her quit then go back to the career. If it still persists, then I'll just have her run my clothing store. I have an issue with the detective career as well, my husband would have to issue an APB like 3 times before the suspect would appear in the cell waiting to be interrogated.I’ve been doing the no traveling and the not save and quit before the gig . It seems to be working for me. I haven’t tried the detective career but I want to. So thanks for letting me know what type of bugs I’ll be running into.. haha

In my opinion it's not that different from any other active career ? they are repetitive. But for the actress you actually can invite the co actor and director before the gig, so you can practice scenes.

I’m playing actor career now and so far it’s pretty cool. Going to the studio and the sets are different. But only thing that really sucks right now is when it is time to go to the gig my sim doesn’t go. If it keeps up, I am quitting and finding another career.

I love acting careers. The movie sets are so cool and there are many genres. Yes it is repetitive like most careers.

@kayen_keagen that is a known bug, very irritating. You have to refrain from travelling between the time you get your gig and the time you need to go to it, otherwise it does something which stops your sim going.

Like @LaBlue0314 I usually have my actor sims do something else like making internet videos or songs for a record label while they are waiting for their gigs.

BrainBlasted has a mod that fixes this problem with traveling between the audition and gig, until there is an official fix to it. I got it earlier and tested it, and it works great.

For now, I'm working on getting to 3 stars, so I can get the perk to skip auditions. Hopefully that will make the career a bit more interesting, and not have so much downtime.

I’m trying not to have too many mods. But I’m dealing with the no traveling, as the loading time takes a bit of time. I’ve finally gotten the no audition and it’s ok I’m gonna try what others have said.. pick a gig that my sim doesn’t have. Reached career level 7.. almost there.. :smile:
