Adding Another Food Booth in Henford-on-Bagley

I have never tried this before, but since I'm currently playing my ancestral game save and my ancestors in the 18th century had a Trading Post, I thought it might be fun to have them sell their wares from a food booth. (With one of those tables for some items.) I'm going to place the very young couple in HoB after they marry and they will need avenues of income. Yes, I can sell their produce from their field, as it were, but it might be fun to run a food booth, as an alternative to a mercantile. Is this even possible? Or should I just have them sell stuff from that portable table that came with Jungle Adventure or whatever the name of that pack is. Can we use these on residential lots?

Any thoughts?

Please, and thank you, in advance.
  • You can sell with the portable sales table anywhere, on your lot or elsewhere in the neighbourhood. I used it to sell cakes, vegetables and fruits and honey. I have a sim who lives in HoB and she sells chicken eggs to the grocery stand on Festival day as they offer a better price then, but she keeps chickens more like a hobby rather than a main income source.
  • Don't think you can actively use the food booth for other than buying. But the sales tables can be used easily. There are many versions, from City Living, Selvadorada and Eco Lifestyle. Also - uif you are fine with a couple mods, Sandy at Aroundthesims ceaed a few sales tables that are very plain and stripped for sales decor etc, they might fit better with a dated setting.

    You can use sales tables on home ground, just keep in mind that if you choose to build them a little home shop, the entrance can not be a door, but an Arch (or nothing) will work.

    You could also take your sales table to the village green every festival day and sell food/crafts to festival-goers. This a typical country fair thing to do.

    Way cool. I've only had my Global Superstar live in HoB and quite frankly, he's lucky enough to keep up with his meager garden, let alone take wares to sell. Thanks!

    @Crocrobaura Great idea

    @Simmerville thanks I may look into that mod. I've got so many now, I'm leery with the Patch coming up.

    Many thanks to all of you. I will take all of this into consideration. I'm so excited. Now, if I can just get them properly hitched. LOL
