Adjusting seasons length

I haven't done exactly what you want to do, but I constantly adjust seasons' lenghts. I am not a big fan of winter, so I play all other seasons 28 days and winter 7 days. I always change on the first day of the season, so on the 1st day of winter I change the settings to 7 days and on the 1st day of spring I change it back to 28 days. I've never had any issues in my game or noticed anything weird on the community lots.

The holidays will definitely get scrambled. And yeah, the progression across the seasons will slow down since you have more days. I'm not sure about much else with the world however. If you mean things like the skating rinks and food stalls appearing, I don't think those will be effected by changing the season length.

I moved mine from 7 to 14 because of rotational play and to add more holidays without having one every other day. So far the things you mentioned are the only major changes that I've noticed. I wish the game had a way to move a holiday rather than delete it and recreate it on another day, but once I had all of mine moved I didn't experience any other problems with the change.

Besides holidays getting moved I've found that for a while the bills can arrive on odd days or not at all. This typically sorts itself out after a couple of weeks.

Thanks all! Ai, I did not think of that the shorter lifestages will no longer experience every season. It might be a good thing though, like not all YA will be able to have a Summer wedding (at least not while still being fresh YAs), and not all children will meet Father Winter etc. I age them all up manually, so it would not be a problem allowing each lifestage a few more days, but if I double their length, it would mean that my population would take forever to grow up, hm, I must give this a thought...

Edit: Thinking for 5 seconds and I realize this is not a problem, haha. I grow up the entire community one year on New Year's Eve (or thereabout), it's the only night I will have Aging On. So, every lifestage will indeed experience every season. Aging them up to their next lifestage is something else and will not affect this at all. It could be the other way around, having shorter lifestages to make sure my generations will move on a bit faster. With 56 simdays per year, each lifestage could easily be 1-2 days shorter, and I would still get plenty more gaming time with everyone. Time and age is a mystery in these games, I easily get confused :)

I always thought that the seasons are too short. 14 days seems better to me. How do you change this from 7 days to 14 days?

In game's settings. I think there is a separate menu fan for Seasons settings.

The longer season the more times you can harvest each plant, I think. I don't know if they will be reset when the settings are changed, but I doubt it.

I'm set for 14 days. I just wish it wouldn't rain so very much. LOL
