Adopt a certain breed of pet?

Quick question - is it possible to adopt a certain breed of pet? Let's say I want my sims to adopt a springer spaniel puppy - can that be possible?

Or do I have to go to Manage World - create that dog then merge with the family?

You will have to check the pets that are available for adoption every few sim days. The breed you want may or may not become available for adoption. Only other way is to create the dog in CAS.

Thanks - was checking if there was an easier option but might just have to use the CAS
