Advice Please: Horse Ranch Question About Foals

Hi, this is the first time my Sims have owned horses. They live in Crescent Ridge, and Fall is edging toward Winter. In fact, they had snow just the other Sim-evening in my game. I have a foal, a wee filly, who prefers to sleep under the stars, over sleeping on the bed in the barn. Need I worry if she sleeps in the snow?

I have had her owner ask her to sleep on her bed, but Arwin is as independent as my Sim's youngest child. I end up finding the filly sleeping outside of the barn, anyway.

Need I worry? Please, and thank you, in advance,

@GalacticGal does Arwin have the Free Spirit trait? If so then she'll prefer sleeping outside rather than indoors.

Even when it snows? She may have that Trait; I can't recall off the cuff. But thank you for the response.

I have horses who live outdoors year round in all seasons. I built an "open air" stable in their corral, that has a roof and low side walls but no front wall. That way they can shelter while still being outside. They seem happy. ?

Yeah, the horse I have that is a free spirit will only go in his stall if I put his food bin in there ( I put it there because the first on was outside and lightning struck and turned the first one to ash) and even then I usually have to call him to eat it because he seems to prefer eating the prairie grass that is outside, I lock the gates to his roaming area because he actually prefers to sleep and eat in the off lot area, but it looks strange when he’s outside by himself. The stallion is also Brave and stays outside even in the thunder and lightning. I was wondering how a fearful horse that was also a free spirit would act in that thunder and lightning.

Okay, something on that order crossed my mind. Her 'parents' spend time inside the barn. It's the filly that prefers the outdoors. In fact, I found her inside the greenhouse, which surprised me. I also caught a snapshot of the mare inside the ranch house, in the TV room. I think she may have been heading for the greenhouse, because at one point all three horses were in there. :open_mouth:

I do know that Arwin is frequently tense.
