Aging off or on and why?

Off here, I just control aging manually by throwing birthday parties whenever I want to age up a Sim.
Or just bake a cake and put candles on it, if I'm in a hurry.

Townies don't really come into play for my families, so I don't bother aging townies.
Unless it's something like a schoolmate I want to keep in line with one of my children/teens.

In my game I have aging turned off for everyone. I am doing this because every time we get a new pack I always want to have the original sims that started out with each pack to be there, plus I'm holding out for a University pack, and I want sims such as Cassandra Goth to still be around.

I turn it off. I'm quite fond of the sims in my save, since I created each and every one. I've been playing with them for years and I've put a lot of work into them as well, so I don't want to just see them waste away. The generational-type playstyle really doesn't suit me.

Off forever, I want to be in control of everything, and I also dont want to lose potential stuff later on; Parenthood really punished anyone that had aged up all the kids and teens before its release for example.

I spend a looooong time creating my cast of characters and I don’t want to see them shuffled out before I’m ready. When I decide it’s time for a sim to age up, I do it manually.

On. I like the natural progression of the game as far as the life cycle goes. Besides, I really enjoy watching the genetics change with each generation of my favorite families. Lately, I've been rotating through the premades and progressing them as well because I really do want to see the next generation of families like the Goths, Pancakes, Landgraabs, Scotts, Lees, etc...

I used to play on short lifespan before we had so much content to play with. Now I play on normal or long depending on the family, the save, and how much I like and want to keep them around.

Normally my aging is on for everyone, including townies. I'm a generational player, and I tend to get bored if I don't feel like progress is happening. But I do have an aging off save for my Ultimate Sim Legacy - ain't no way I'm getting that done with my normal aging, even if it's double the normal age span! But that one is very achievement/goal oriented, and my other ones aren't so much.

Off my character’s storyline take ages to tell.

Aging off for everyone. I age kids up when needed, the rest just stay young adult/adult. With all the things I want my sims to do, there isn't enough time if aging is on.

On but the slowest aging option. I like to max out skills or have children complete all aspirations.
