I really don't like Star Wars, never have. I've never seen the films (any of them), never got the hype, it's just not my thing. The only way I could have possibly been okay with the pack being mostly SW themed was if they did it where it was a themed park/fantasy camp destination type place, and you stayed in a hotel or rental home or even a place inside the park/camp. Your sim could live out their SW fantasy life, and have a fun time and then go home and know it was not really an actual thing, but an experience.
I would've even let it slide if they didn't let us run the hotels we stayed in, cause they wanted to focus on the SW side of it, because then it might have made more sense for the invasion of this outside brand into the game. They could always make a pack for running hotels later on, and I'd be happy when that came.
I would have REALLY enjoyed a general space theme for the pack, with perhaps a few nods to SW in a parodied way. Why go out of the way to bring in this SW stuff and all of their lore, when The Sims has is OWN alien lore to play with? There's SO much that can be done with Sixam and the aliens we have to improve upon them. Sure, there'd be backlash about that too, since the aliens came in GTW and it'd be releasing DLC for DLC or the aliens would be taken out of that pack and put into the base game, but it'd still be the Sims' OWN lore that they're adding to and playing with, and not some outside franchise which many feel has no business doing in the game.
