I think because I was playing on short life span or maybe a result of a mod. But I looked today, and all the elders in the game were dead. Except for George Cahill. I guess that bunker really does work.
Hmm... He does have a trait called "Active" which has been reported to make sims' lives longer. - Daephene1New SpectatorIn my game he got a new plane and promptly crashed it into an island in Sulani and started living with a mermaid on the shipwreck lot. And he is outliving all of my other elders too. I thought he'd die when his child was a baby but now I'm wondering if he'll make it through the boy's childhood.
- handelgamerSeasoned TravelerWell that makes my plans of having him take off in his plane away from Strangerville once he hits level 10 handiness more likely. Unless Meredith Roswell can convince him to stay for her but I have a feeling their thing is more of a passing fling for the both of them...
...especially since uh, George did watch Ted Roswell and Jess Sigworth die, blaming them for the strange things. (And as a part of his aspiration) I set up a trap with a small pool and a fence. I, and by exenstion him, did feel a bit of remorse after Ted died and was about to take the fence off to let Jess live, but by then, it was too late.
He regrets Jess but he feels it's all for the best he gets out of Strangerville and the strangeness. We'll see if he makes it out in time... - SimmervilleSeasoned AceI'm glad to learn that George might be around a little longer than I expected. He is still in his Strangerville plane wreck in my game, but I like him and want him to find a mate to found a new family. I never focused a lot on him though, so guess it's time to do so ;)
- Maybe it is because of his hidden "Veteran Hermit" trait?
- DaWaterRatNew VanguardEvery once in a while, an elder (or even an adult) will somehow get "stuck" and stop aging. I always assumed mods were to blame, but as long as it wasn't part of my household, I really didn't care that much.
George just died in my game about 15 RL minutes ago. - elizabethjane818New NoviceI used MC Commander to set his elder age back. He’s now crashed on Sulani, and enjoying his much needed retirement.
- I remember being traumatized by George Cahill burning to death in his house. I had sims visit Strangerville and choose his lot, they were only going to the curio shop to buy things. And I guess George decided to go cook or something. I dunno, couldn't see into the lot. Anyway, it took two sim days for the fire to completely burn up his house and burn out. I was so freaked out by it I not only put in an error report but I tweeted every sim guru I could find and told them the harrowing tale.

I hadn't even met George Cahill. SMH
