Always Have A Boy?

So I have a new family and I'm really trying hard to just have their births be random and not do the baby cheat. So far, my Sim has had 2 boys. Can you have girls when you don't do the cheat to have them? Because it seems like even before I did cheats and stuff, my Sim always had a boy first. So, can you randomly have a girl?
