People take the gallery waaayyy too seriously.
Judging from what comes up in recent uploads (especially the ones with unrelated names) I'm pretty sure that an awful lot of gallery uploads are done by people just trying to save a build or household, not even intending to upload it.
People raise drama treating the gallery like a virtual goods marketplace with actual intellectual property.. which it's not.
I can understand the frustration to some degree, but unlike virtual world trade, The Sims actually is "just a game." At least with mods and CC, there's legit new content. But your sim family or house is part of playing the game, and when people are uploading to the gallery they're rarely using their own new content; they're just uploading a part of their own game. I want to say "if it feels like work, you're doing it wrong," but that's not fair because you can play your own game however you like. But.. you can't expect other people to see it the way you do. It's not reasonable to get mad at other people for seeing the game as a game.
