That’s mostly confined to the #stopstealing, but I have noticed people getting mad about reuploads (that show the original creator) even when it’s obvious stuff has been changed just by the packs used.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is at least partially because the current default gallery filter is set to “popular now” which seems to constantly feature stuff by the same people.

I've done some major remodeling of some houses (mostly adding basements) but I'm hesitant about re-uploading because I don't want to be accused of stealing, so I just use those for my own gameplay. :/ (I've done major work on both Beech Bungalow and Pique Hearth -- I should at least upload those.) Supposedly the next major gallery update will change the default to Newest (still wish they'd bring back the All button because it's impossible to find older builds; I've been wanting to find some houses from 4 years ago with just base game items and challenge myself to remodel/redecorate just for practice).

As someone who regularly puts my own lots and rooms on the gallery, I can see exactly how this is an issue. Depending on the lot and what you’re building, it can take weeks to build and get it just right and these theives are just downloading and reposting effortlessly? That’s actually really low. Luckily I haven’t had this happen to me yet since my lots don’t really get seen because of the default being changed to ‘Popular’ instead of ‘Newest’, but the point is no creator should have to put so much work into anything and get it stolen.

@CorkysPetals - once simmers realized that having large Tray folders led to gallery lag, many switched from downloading content they liked to favoriting it instead. Comments are to encourage and thank the simmer who created the building/room/sim/etc. :smile: There might be fewer comments than there used to be, since --at least as of the last time I was active on the gallery-- you no longer got notifications of people leaving comments on your uploads, only notifications of comments on your gallery page.

I do not believe Maxis favs are based on the number of comments or downloads (downloads usually follow the Maxis fav, rather than the other way around). Sometimes they pay attention to the recommendation threads (located in the various subcategories of the creative section of the forum), and sometimes not. Sometimes, the favs appeared to be rather...random. I haven't been on the Gallery in months (and turned off my notifications), so I don't know what the trend is atm.
