Am I the only one who never cared to play families or with ageing on?

I play with aging off. Always. I've turned it on a couple times over the years. But I quickly turned it off again. I form strong bond with my favorite sims. I hate the thought of seeing them age up and die. I age sims up manually if I need to for the story. 

I have avoided playing families in the past. I used to be a big control freak. Having more than one or two sims in a household was hard to manage with my level of control...freakiness(?).🤔 I've learned a lot about playing larger households and now I'm ready to try playing families.
