ANOTHER Patch?!!

That's what I thought, when I saw it, along with my usual "Great, get to check my 300 mods again to figure out which one is causing the new problem". But I can definitely say I'll be happier with this one installed. One of my top five complaints forever and ever is how difficult it usually is to get things to match in any type of build I do, and it looks like you guys are giving us a ton of new options. So thanks for that!

That drinking water bug never seems to go away for me. I really dislike it. My sims stop whatever they are doing and my planned action drops, just so they can get a glass of water they don't need. Very frustrating!

How do we know they don't need to drink the water? Maybe thirst is a hidden need. Anyway, I'm not to bothered by it, though sometimes I wish they would put their own glasses away and not leave them all over the house.

It is a hidden need and it was a bug that was supposed to be fixed. My sims have died from dehydration if they aren't constantly drinking water in the past before they fixed it. Now I have a family...one of my favorites...that won't do anything other than stand around the kitchen sink drinking water over and over.

Was there a content patch yesterday? Because I opened Origin yesterday but didn't start playing till late last night and I got this message at top of Origin about a content patch and I should refresh to get it but I was not in a mood to handle another patch so soon after the 21st one so I just started the game and played.

But when I started Origin just now, the message of course was gone but there was no forced Update button in my Sims 4. Or any other of my very few Origin games. Was this just a phantom patch that got nuked or was Origin being a ...yeah no I can't finish this sentence here. So. No patch?

Don't worry, content patches are origin updates, not sims4 updates. I think it's usually updates for the store. If you don't click refresh then I'm pretty sure origin just updates it when you start origin again.

Ah! Thank you! I wasn't sure. Because it said content. Good to know
  • Using a mod for something like to stop sims grabbing water is one of the safest mods there is. They usually only touch on one or two xmls; for water, it's to stop the autonomy of grabbing drinks from the fridge and to stop getting water from the sink. Unless Maxis specifically changes aspects of those two things, they will always work. The only likely threat would be if they added something, like a new drink they could grab.
  • I understand needing to drink water. I always have my water bottle with me! LOL When my jogger went to get water, that I understand. But he and his roommate both constantly go to the sink for water, dropping the action I set for them from the queue. That is what frustrates me. At least finish what they were meant to do first. Sometimes a need is really low and the action is to help fill that need, but nope, they still don't do it and prefer to go get a glass of water instead.

There is a hidden thirst need. Modder zer0 has a mod that shows the need.
