Anti-starvation "cheat"???

https://i.imgur.com/um7X3P8.jpg

This sim in the last stage of starvation. Of course, a ghost cannot die from starvation, however, this is still unexpected behaviour. I know that if a sim is starving but has something eatable in the inventory, it will eat it. However, this sim had nothing. On the last stage, she always starts to chaotically search her "pockets" and would always found this "something" you see on the picture. She eats it and fills her bar to about 70%. This action cannot be cancelled.

This is the mold-ghost by the way.

I am very interested, what is this??? Is a death from starvation now disabled entirely in this game??
  • It's because she's a ghost. I don't remember if they have always done that animation, but ghosts always refilled their hunger bars when they dropped close to zero.

Pregnant sims do this too. They can't die from any cause. So when a pregnant sim's hunger need drops to zero, they conjure a candy bar (or whatever it's supposed to be) and they're fine.

Death by starvation is not disabled. I offed a sim this way just a few days ago.
  • It is hunger failure for those whose death is disabled. Ghosts can't die.
  • @Perti23 Wow. I remember trying to keep pregnant sims alive in TS2. It was a real challenge.

Oh, man, I used to love the challenge (Sims2) to keep my pregnant Sims alive. It was truly hard, but it also made for a lot of fun gameplay. I thrive on such challenges, and removing this is just another way to dumb-down the game. Ho-hum. I mean, come on, people, just stock the banquet table so she doesn't starve.
