Hi! So I bought the new pack today and have found myself overwhelmed with all the content in it does anyone have any ideas on a good getaway routine for a family and/or any good family lots? I am trying to find some myself!

I tried to build a Christmas getaway on Kiyomatsu Point where I could be sure of the snow, but it wasn't very good so I ended up quitting without saving. I've always wanted a place for my sims to stay in guaranteed snow where it could be decorated out festively and they could stay overnight and open gifts and have a turkey dinner. I might have another go when I'm not feeling so ill, my heart isn't in it today.

That's very cool idea, might try myself.. log cabins for guests to stay and one big main building.. skating rinks .. 🤩
The main issue I see with the getaways is that they come with staff and guests and you need to know the lot in advance, to make sure it can accommodate everyone and see what activities it can offer. Also, it seems like a lot of work to set up a custom getaway that, unless you set it as recurring, will be a one time experience, and if you want to visit the same lot with another family, you need to set the getaway for them too, so you might not be as eager to setup all the options, wit uniforms and what not. Is it possible to save them like the premade ones?
With the custom venue option I was finally able to get a reasonably well-used cinema. Not a getaway, but a good family venue.
There were still a few annoyances - 1) every single sim who came to watch a movie changed the movie channel so, at the beginning, the picture on the tv kept swapping or resetting as they all filed in and 2) some sims (even my own sim stood at the back, who I had told to sit) refused to sit down. But it was certainly more occupied than any way I tried previous to this pack and the sims spent a good time watching movies before moving to the bar or to have popcorn. I was also able to have both a downstairs and upstairs bar staffed and have a spare staff member for fixing and cleaning.
Looks awesome!! Sure has its annoyances, but like you said works way better still 🤩
