Any way to save sims inventory when moving to a new save?

My current save is messed up so I want to move my sim to a new save but with their personal items, such as graduation pic and diploma. Is there any way to save those items so I can put them in the new save?

  • Might work to build a room or house, add the items in there, and save to library/gallery. Don't expect all names to be transmitted though, but at least you should get most of the deco for the visuals.

I don't do this often myself, so I have absolutely no idea whether it still works.

PS: did you try fixing your save by removing mods folder, deleting caches and repair game?
  • I don’t use mods/cc, I just want to move them to a new save to clear up their relationship tab and reset stuff.
I tried the saving a room tip and the personal photos from cameras saved. The graduation picture and diploma however were gone ?

Have them keep their furniture when they move. Also, get one or more of the trunks that came with Uni and put the personal stuff in there. That should keep your stuff. At least it used to. Best of luck.

    Sadly, The trunk didn’t work.

To transfer to a new save you just need to put everything you want in your lot, save your lot to the gallery, then save your sim. Start a new game and reload your sim and lot and it’ll be much the same as it was.

I don’t believe you can transfer diplomas and graduation photos - I kept the photo but the picture was blacked out. The diploma also came across but it was for the wrong degree - mine was distinguished drama but the one I carried over said normal biology or something. I think items related to gameplay data get messed up, probably because the information they need doesn’t exist in that particular save. I think some of my photo booth photos blacked out too.

99 percent of my stuff did move across correctly - collections, books, Batuu items, upgrade items, most photos, bicycle, all the lot items. Those graduation photos don’t appear to be a ‘normal’ item and seems like they don’t pull over correctly but maybe a mod can do it.

I had a feeling the diploma and graduation photo weren’t going to transfer.

Thank you all for your help
  • Try taking a picture of the graduation photo with either a digcam or your sim's phone, then put that picture into the room/lot you saved. It's not ideal, but at least something.

Lol I ended up doing this. Thank you ?
