I agree. My mermaid household is off grid and just lives in the water so I ran into this very issue just now. I put the fire pit down on their island but then I had the problem of dishes and leftovers...it's just a pain especially when I can feed a dolphin from the water for 2 simoleons but yet can't feed myself!!??

Edited to add: I learned something new at least. Sims can throw trash into the bonfire so I don't have to put an ugly trash can on my island :)
