I’m killing time away from my computer right now and thinking about my newest Sims project. A farmer, Michael, has inherited the lot and is going to get in an interesting roommate. (The build I’m working on has a great unit built in beneath). That’s when I recalled that I’ve made (but not actually played) three or more different versions of this one Sim. The one version has an elderly father and a younger sister. I think I’m going to alter the story. Spilt the family. Say that between his own ill health and being recently widowed, Michael’s father has moved into a easier to manage, retirement community situation. But I need the lot and perhaps some fellow retirees. So yeah, has anyone umm got a retirement lot??

I have a couple retirement homes, one is on the gallery, made back before I had any expansion packs. It's reasonably nice, with room for a nurse and plenty of activities. In The Sims 2, when lots were bigger, I had a retirement village that was a series of independent cabins and a common room, which was used for meals and recreation. I moved elders I wasn't playing into it. There was also a pool. I've never tried it in The Sims 4 , but I think there's a lot in Oasis Springs big enough for purpose..

Evergreen Harbor is a good choice. Green but still suburban. You could move Michael into a lot with land, or one of the two apartments. The apartments are small enough to make moving around easier as a retiree. Community lot for gardening/other activities depending on his influence in the community. Or something different.

I am thinking of making one myself in the future.At the moment my Sims aren't elders, because I play with aging off, however I have future plans with the elder Sims.Some will stay in the family homes with their heirs, while some will probably retire to another household.

Anyone have, umm, a retirement lot?

I play with aging on, so it's not really an issue for my game... my elders live out their final days either in the bosom of their family or in their own homes.
I make my sims' lives difficult often, but, retirement facilities are a particular kind of suffering I prefer not to inflict on them <3

@NRowe I built an elderly home complex for my elders based on one we have locally in real life. I was a visiting nurse so I saw a lot of them and thought this one would work well for my sims. It has 3 small homes with small living room/kitchen area, bedroom and bath. I put 3 in so can have singles or couples and not go over limit of 8 sims. If placed on larger lot, (it's 30x40) could add another home if wanted. There is a community building with a small kitchen area, area for laundry, fitness area and recreational area with chess, cards, etc. The yard has a fishing pond, picnic tables and grill, chess and horseshoes. My id is MaggieMae7276 on the gallery and the lot is simply called Elderly Home Complex.

I have a retirement community in my game. Basically it's a bunch of small studio apartments with the doors locked to specific Sims and then a communal dining area and a lot of activities in the common areas. I just moved them to San Sequoia where they live near the walking trails. I searched the gallery for apartment buildings on that lot size and then edited it to have smaller apartments and more common areas, and added a pool and garden.

I have 2 retirement lots: one for Brindleton Bay, and one for Oasis Springs. Both have enough space for 8 sims and also has plenty of activities for the elders to do. I built them a long time ago, so none of the stuff from Growing Together are in them.

I don’t have any up on the gallery but I now have two in game. I’m up to gen 6/7 in my main legacy, so there’s a lot of family. In the past three game days, around 10 family members aged to elders, meaning the original retirement home in Brindleton Bay reached max very quickly. I created a second home in Newcrest, which is also now full. I Ike keeping the elders where it’s easy to find them and keep the urns to help keep family lines intact.
