Rural-town living is a lot more connected with farming than you think.
There are big towns and cities out there that consider farming to be the heart of a community. Farms and mining are what helped small towns prosper into large cities. I live in a city that was a town and considers farming to be central and the big businesses here help farmers. Separating things that actually did have something to do with each other(similar to what they did with Cats & Dogs and My First Pet pack) just made EP09 at lot less decent than it should've been.
But yeah I understand its all business. EA needs to make a Game Pack every year. Its just sad that Farming might be relegated to that instead of being an iconic focus of an EP.
Yeah farming is at the heart of the community I am now. Lots of llamas and vineyards too. There are a lot of farms that around me that have those windmills. I think that is what is going to happen is that they are trying to separate the two themes to make more money like yes your example is very good at how they have done it in the past.
