It very weird, yet there was an American High School option so they do potentially intend to expand on teens.

I found that odd too. It was also strange that on both the CAS and gameplay questions, YA and Adult were ranked separately from each other. There is at least some functional differences between teens and YA; school instead of work, romance restrictions, no emotional deaths, and the options that come with Parenthood. However, there is no difference at all between YA and adult either in terms of aesthetics or function, so unless there is some massive overhaul of those two ages in the works (which is highly unlikely) it makes no sense to rank them separately in terms of preference for future content.
Unless the "YA" choice in the survey was supposed to be "teen" and whoever was making the survey entered it wrong. Unlikely, but possible.
