Are Game Changers Still Relevant?

I think there is still relevance based on some of the partnerships between game changers and brands. Grim Cookies and Harrie worked with Gucci, Zillow sponsored build videos by Deligracy, Aveline and Lilsimsie. Adobe partnered with Lilsimsie for a live stream on Twitch. Front page was part of the deal and at one point she had more viewers than Ninja during the same timeframe (her highest number might have been 20,000).

There is a new meta on Twitch, the popularity of multiplayer games like Among Us and Rust are generating new sales for these older titles. Many of the game changers are playing Stardew Valley co-op - for example Dr.Gluon, Deligracy and James all play together. I would not be surprised if Sims 5 has a multiplayer or co-op mode, it was mentioned in the recent survey.

Yeah, I think to be a successful game changer you have to branch out, lilsimsie did not get her success on twitch by just playing the sims...

You mentioned the sims were not relevant, the brands reached out because they probably liked the game's player demographics and knew these game changers had a captive audience. Lilsimsie does play other games but she is known as a sims player first and for her builds. Her success and other game changers I believe started on Youtube and quite a few viewers make their way to Twitch to check out the live streams. Usually you need to be successful on another social platform like TikTok, Youtube or Instagram to be popular on Twitch. If you have no viewers you will not be discovered.

EA gives them early access to packs which helps with exposure and views and if they continue with game changers building lots for the packs that is free publicity. The promotion of their channels and brand really should be up to them.
