Are Restaurants in Island Living broken???

I brought a restaurant and hired employees, but they never showed up. i repeated the process several times with the same outcome. I even fired, and hired new staff but it happened every time. sometimes i see them standing outside, but wont come in to work. Is this a known issue for anyone else???

  • You must hire employees from Sulani. There a plenty of threads with information about this bug here and at Answers HQ.

Wow, that was it, I now have a full staff. Thank you alamichael1. But, I 'm not sure that is a good thing as you will have to know, only by there name uniqueness that they are from Sulani. You should just be able to hire anybody. Thank you again.

That is good to know as I built a restaurant in Sulani in my save file I've been working on. You wouldn't happen to know if it's the same for the vet clinic too, would you?
  • Unfortunately no as I am still on vacation and only know the game through videos and the forums. I am also curious if shops work in Sulani or if you also have to hire locals.
  • I would assume they would all work pretty similar. Aside from the bar, I only have the vet clinic and restaurant. I haven't played in that save yet because I'm still building. It's a save I've worked on for nearly a year or more of just my builds and sims. Maybe someone will come along and let us know. :)
  • Would I be a plumbob if I would wish for this bug to not be a bug :naughty: Having employees from the island only is something I am definatly game with

Actually, I feel the same way, to be honest. I like that Sulani feels cut off from the other worlds. It makes it feel more close-knit, which was the intent. Plus, I don't see why someone from another world would "commute" all the way to Sulani to work in a restaurant when they could do that in their home world. To me, it's like someone who lives in New York or somewhere, commuting to Alaska or Hawaii to work. Doesn't make sense. They would just move there. ?
  • It's only a "problem" when you run the restaurant. If you just place one in Sulani and go there to dine out, everything works as intended.
