Are there any landline phones anymore?

They have fake "landlines" in the active careers where the receptionist answers the phone. XD But they only hold the handset like it came out of nowhere which is kinda silly. I wish the devs would just put a phone there or something instead of something just appearing magically (although this is The Sims and things have been appearing magically out of nowhere since forever LOL).

EDIT: Actually I just found out that some of the receptionist desks in the active careers do have a telephone! :hushed:

I miss when sims actually had to purchase a cell phone.

People who want reliable phone service. Where I live, I'm apparently between cell towers. No provider (tried several) gives decent coverage for my house (get 1 bar usually and lots of dropped calls - despite the fact if I go a short distance any direction from my house I get 3G service with Verizon, so apparently is just my house that's in the phantom zone) so I have a landline.... no complaints with it. Don't need to worry about battery life when talking to someone either.

Me. No one in my house has a cellphone. :\

We haven't had a landline in about 8 yrs, but I'd like my sims to have one for the wall or counter because it looks nice.

I haven't had a landline in about 8 years either... but I still want want one for my sims. It makes their world feel a bit more "timeless" to have tech from the past, present and future. I also really, really wish that cellphones (I think this is the first time I've ever used that word - Australians call them mobiles) were optional and had to be purchased.

Ringtones would be awesome, I don't know who's phone is ringing most of the time.

Maybe it will come in a generations type of ep! :/

Well TS3 had both landline and the more digital ones (below)
Perhaps more modern telephones would be nice:
