The point here is that by putting these builds in the actual pack, they become official builds which means they have to live up to the same standard as Maxis own builds.
To think that the Gamechangers in question need to be coddled for some reason is the absolute wrong attitude; these are official builds in an official pack(s). The fact that they were allowed to use MOO is in itself a terrible mistake and calls back my original post in this thread; MOO is always a bad idea, and it is not activated by default for a reason.
It leads to things like that bed not being usable in the Crane lot, for example.
(And besides, if you can't build the lot you have in mind without MOO either your lot is a bad idea, or you are a bad builder and MOO is your crutch).
Besides, I find it rather hypocritical to post "Reno videos of hideous Maxis lots" and then make basic mistakes in official expansion pack lots you put into the game.
Oh and btw, @AncientMuse ...No. If i am a bad builder I should be able to rely on the builds that comes with a pack. Telling me to build my own is not a valid argument.
Are you saying the builds in the Snowy Escape pack were unusable? That you couldn't "rely on them"? Or perhaps you need to clarify what exactly you mean by "rely". Because even Maxis own builds in the game have plenty of mistakes that needed to be fixed, but each and every lot is still playable either way.
And FYI, these holes in the ceiling you're talking about.... it's an issue with the platform tool specifically. Nothing to do with someone playing around with skylights like what you assumed. It's a specific problem with the platform tool, an issue the gamechangers wouldn't have known about since it was a brand new tool they were learning how to use as they were building these lots. You don't know the tool is deleting the ceiling above unless you go up one level and notice a big hole in your floor/ceiling directly above where you placed your platform... otherwise it goes completely unnoticed if you already have your roof built on top of it. Since the pack came out, builders have figured out various 'workarounds' to remedy the ceiling problem.
... and you would've known that if you took the time to build things instead of spending said time criticizing others for doing so.
I mean sure, we can all just boil this down to "Learn to code if you don't like the game", but that is not a valid argument either.
I assume you never complain at restaurants, just learn to make the dish yourself?
